Roald Dahl Day
Roald Dahl was a famous author, well-known for books such as 'Matilda', 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'The BFG'. He was born on 13th September 1916 and we celebrated this day, firstly by having a taste of peaches in honour of his book 'James and the Giant Peach', and then by having Year Six host an assembly telling us all about this popular author. He also wrote poems and wrote some about famous fairy tales, but gave a different version of these well-known tales. Year Six chose 'Cinderella' and recited the poem whilst acting it out. It had us all laughing! Why don't you find Roald Dahl's poems and see how amusing they are? Year Six gave us all a good start to the year. Well done!
